What is the strange symbol in Osrs? ›

The strange icon is an item obtained from the Barrows chest during the miniquest His Faithful Servants. It can only be obtained from the chest after defeating all six Barrows brothers, and is given to the Strange Old Man to complete the miniquest.

The strange icon is an item obtained during Desert Treasure II. It is reassembled from two icon segments found throughout the Lassar Undercity.

The reward potential gathered is equal to the combat level of the monster that was slain, capped for a total of 1,000. For every Barrows brother that was slain, the player will receive an extra 2 points on their rewards potential, capping the maximum reward potential at 1,012.

If you have a Ring of Wealth (or better) active whilst looting the Barrows, you get an additional drop to the ones listed above. This is an additional drop that isn't affected by any of the above; it's just a bonus from wearing a luck ring equal to or better than a Ring of Wealth.

The chance of receiving at least one piece of Barrows equipment is approximately 1/15.01 ^[a] if you kill all six brothers. This chance is unaffected by the rewards potential that is built by killing other monsters in the crypt. The chance of receiving a specific piece of equipment is approximately 1/350.14.

General advice. It is recommended to have a combat level of at least 70, however many players have done Barrows at lower levels. It is recommended that players have prayer and 35 magic (for Fire Bolt). Players are advised to turn "Accept Aid" off as sometimes other players may use "Teleother" spells to distract you.

Barrows equipment degrades as it is used. Equipment received from the Barrows minigame is fully repaired and can be used for 15 hours of combat until it degrades completely and requires repair before it can be used again.
